要提高瓦斯發(fā)電機組的輸出功率,經濟有用的辦法就是增加進入氣缸的空氣量。在瓦斯發(fā)電機組氣缸容積不變的條件之下,增加進入氣缸空氣的密度是主要的手段。但是,空氣的密度和壓力是成正比的,和溫度是成反比的,所以,增加進氣的壓力,降低進氣的溫度是能夠提高進氣密度的,目前瓦斯發(fā)電機組一般是利用增壓器來提高壓力的,利用中冷器來降低氣體的溫度的。

目前,中高壓的瓦斯發(fā)電機一般都裝有中冷器。中冷器實際上就是個熱交換器,它是安裝在渦輪增壓器與燃燒室之間。當瓦斯發(fā)電機組增壓器的增壓比較高的時候,進氣溫度也比較高,讓空氣的密度下降。中冷器是用于冷卻增壓空氣,降低增壓之后的進氣的溫度。增壓空氣在中冷器中一般可以降低25到60℃。一方面可以提高充氣的密度,另一方面可以降低進氣的氣缸溫度與整個循環(huán)的平均溫度。
